Mesothelioma Lawyers Fight Cancer

Mesothelioma, cancer of the mesothelium, is a rare cancer taking too many lives today. Mesothelium is the thin lining protecting vital organs and body cavities like the heart, lungs, and abdomen. Cancer in the mesothelium is known to spread rapidly throughout the entire body. Like many cancers, mesothelioma is untreatable.

However, what we do know is that high rates of mesothelioma diagnoses occur among people who have been exposed to asbestos. Asbestos is an amazingly strong fiber that is heat resistant. Therefore, asbestos is quite desirable for many industrial and manufacturing endeavors. The groups of people with the highest rate of mesothelioma diagnosis are World War II and Vietnam Veterans. Asbestos use peaked during the war effort, as it was used for many important functions.

If a mortal has been diagnosed with mesothelioma, or any other asbestos related disease, they can file a case against a manufacturing company. Claiming Compensation For Mesothelioma: Cancer of the Mesothelium

posted by:

Mesothelioma is a terminal and debilitating illness which nearly always results from asbestos exposure. If you are suffering from mesothelioma as a result of someone else’s negligence, you might be entitled to claim compensation on a no win, no fee basis.

Here is some important information about the asbestos-related form of cancer, mesothelioma, and how to make a claim for compensation if you are suffering from this disease.

What is mesothelioma?

Mesothelioma (cancer of the mesothelium) is a terminal cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. Mesothelioma forms when malignant cancer cells develop along the mesothelium, or conserving lining, which covers internal organs in the human body.

The lungs and chest cavity are the most common sites for mesothelioma. Cancer cells which lead to mesothelioma can also (more rarely) develop around the heart or abdomen.

Symptoms of mesothelioma can include coughing, shortness of breath, chest pain, fatigue and weight loss.

Why is asbestos dangerous?

Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral which is now illegal from use in the UK because of its toxicity. However, up until the primeval 1980s, and particularly in the 1970s, the mineral was widely used for industrial purposes due to its apparently valuable properties of heat insulation, electrical and chemical resistance, absorption and strength.

An Overview Of Mesothelioma Cancers

Mesothelioma cancers are the cancers that spread in the mesothelium tissues. Mesothelium in general is the study of tissue that forms lining of different body organs such as heart, lungs, abdomen and reproductive organs. The lining around abdominal organs is known as peritoneal membrane. Lining around lungs is called pleural membrane while the lining around heart is called pericardium.

These linings perform two functions. They protect the internal organs by producing a lubricating fluid and to grant the smooth movement of the internal organs. Mesothelioma cancers are the cancers affecting these membranes. The obloquy of the cancers depend on the tissue or linings they affect. Peritoneal mesothelioma, pleural mesothelioma and pericardial mesothelioma are the obloquy of cancers of linings of abdomen, lungs and heart, respectively. Pleural mesothelioma is the most common of all mesothelioma cancers and is found in 70 % of the mesothelioma patients. Peritoneal mesothelioma constitutes 10% to 20% of the mesothelioma patients while third type pericardial mesothelioma, is rare. (more…)
