Nivea launches the great football experiment with the helps of Ivory FC. Training under professional footballers, the Sunday league football team faces England Legends for a match of a lifetime.
As part of the latest Nivea Skincare campaign, Ivory FC was picked after a nationwide search and a public vote. Nivea for Men is sponsoring the competition so that Ivory FC can experience an eventual football event. The small football team is now receiving expert guidance under professional coaches and footballers, such as Terry Venables, Ray Wilkins and Ray Clemence.
This England-style preparation will help the team grappling off against professional footballers. With Ivory FC receiving the same coaching and support as the England squat, will they be healthy to compete? Nivea believes that the right preparation is more important than inherent skill or talent.
Along with coaching, Ivory FC will receive support from top sports physicians and nutritional advice. Each player on Ivory FC also will get a brand new Umbro kit.
Although this might sound like an experience of a lifetime, it will also be hard work. The top rated trainers from England and the FA are not going to go simple on Ivory FC. The team of England Legends include football experts, including Rob Jones, Clive Darren Allen, Nigel Winterburn and Ian Walker.
In the middle of November, Ivory FC beat a team of England Legends by a score of 2 to 1. With goals by Craig Harrington and Peter Harlow, Ivory FC has displayed that preparation can beat talent in some cases. The England Legends Viv Anderson scored one goal late in the match but it wasn’t enough to hold back Ivory FC.
Nivea believes that preparation is the key component between a good team and great team. By providing the tool for this Great Football Experiment, Nivea for Men has shown that practice and a highly trained team can compete with seasoned football athletes and professionals.
